Did you know that 64% of teens with cell phones text during class and 65% send texts late at night? (Source: Pew Research, Safely user data).
Now parents can take charge of how their kids use their Android smartphones. Safely, a division of Location Labs, today announced the launch of Safely Phone Controls on Android, the newest product in its suite of mobile family security software. The digital parenting service is first being distributed in partnership with Sprint (NYSE: S) and is now available on Google Play under the name “Sprint Mobile Controls.” Sprint has posted a brief video overview of the new app on YouTube.
With the Sprint Mobile Controls App, you can:
Automatically lock your child’s phone during school so they can’t use it in class;
Set their phone to block texts and calls after bedtime (or other specific times); and
Enable many other features like being notified if a stranger calls your child and making sure downloaded apps are age-appropriate.
